With my table, we did our take on a vintage heart cake. We made a classic vanilla cake, with custard filling and vanilla buttercream. We made a black marshmallow fondant to cover the cake, and used our knowledge of piping to create beautiful patterns on top of the fondant.

Some struggles we had were making the buttercream such a dark colour. We used... too much black food colouring, so much that your tongue will be stained black for a while. This was more of a tedious process of kneading, but making the fondant was a pain in the butt.
Overall, I really like the outcome of our cake, and I feet that we used some very advanced techniques in making it. I would rate this cake a 8/10.
